Viacom Tentpole Calendar

The Task
Viacom Ad Sales needed a digital calendar to show key tentpole events occurring on their networks. The original calendar being used was a standard block calendar layout making it hard to see the event details in the tiny boxes.

The Solve
By breaking the calendar into three columns, it allowed the events to breathe and provide additional, easy to read details. Some months only have one to two events and this layout solves for those as well. When breaking out of a traditional calendar grid, you lose the days of the week. I made sure to solve by this by adding it in as text next to the dates. I also made sure there was the ability to filter by network, event type, and year. The networks’ color was chosen based on their brand colors.
